Yau Ma Tei Obscura
Yau Ma Tei not only had many cinemas in the old days, but it is also a place often used for location filming in Hong Kong movies. That is because Yau Ma Tei embeds the spirit of Hong Kong.
This art project is mainly divided in two parts. A camera obscura is set up in the container, which is a live projection of cityscape of Yau Ma Tei. At the same time, a re-edited film is playing, which comes from combining footages from different films about Yau Ma Tei, to recreate a new perception about this community through many different video angles.
